Haley Clum - Volleyball
SVSU junior middle hitter, Haley Clum, earns Cardinal Athlete of the Week after an impressive weekend road sweep for the Cardinals against GLIAC South Division #1 and #2 ranked Ashland and Wayne State. SVSU improves their record to 11-4 overall and 5-2 in GLIAC play.
The Cardinal middle hitter led the team in hitting percentage with .222 and added five kills offensively for SVSU. Clum also led the team defensively with 10 blocks, two solo and eight assisted, in match against Wayne State.
Clum was also a key in the victory over Ashland who was undefeated in conference play and at home until the Cardinals snapped the streak. Clum was second on the team in kills with 16 and earned the highest hitting percentage for the Cardinals with .682. She also recorded five blocks in the win over the Ashland Eagles.
The Cardinals host games Friday (Oct. 11) and Saturday (Oct. 12), as they take on the Pride of Purdue Northwest and the Parkside Rangers. Action is underway Friday at 7p.m. and Saturday at 2p.m. in these GLIAC and regional match-ups.
