SVSU Football junior quarterback Ryan Conklin has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and Cardinal Athlete of the week, following his standout performance in the Cardinals' season-opening 45-7 victory over Alderson Broaddus at Wickes Stadium.
Conklin led the Cardinals to a season-opening victory at home over Alderson Broaddus, 45-7. Conklin connected on 25-of-34 passes (73.5%) for 303 yards, a career-high four touchdowns and no interceptions. He hit a total of nine different receivers while the Cardinals racked-up 550 yards of total offense.

Amanda Minissale - Women's Soccer

SVSU Women's Soccer senior defender Amanda Minissale has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week and Cardinal Athlete of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a 2-0 record to start the 2018 campaign.
Minissale helped lead the Cardinals to a 2-0 road record over the weekend with wins over regional foes Ohio Dominican and Alderson Broaddus. She helped keep a clean sheet for the Cards in the 8-0 over ABU, also contributing a goal and assist in the victory.
With these wins, the team is now ranked 16th in the United Coaches Poll of all Division II schools.
The Cards are back on the road this upcoming weekend, traveling to play in St. Louis against Missouri-St. Louis on Friday (Sep. 7) at 6:00 p.m. before facing Maryville Sunday (Sep. 9) at noon.
