Connor Rutz – Men's Soccer
Junior college transfer, Connor Rutz (Commerce, Mich.) earned SVSU Athlete of the Week honors for his outstanding performance during this weekend's match ups between Tiffin and Purdue Northwest. Rutz scored one of his goals on the weekend in the two minutes of the Tiffin contest that resulted in a double-overtime tie of 2-2. He also posted another two goals Sunday evening against Purdue Northwest for the victory, 2-1.
Saginaw Valley State Men's Soccer team will be home this weekend on Friday versus Ashland University. First kick is slated for 2:30 p.m. at Robert C. Braddock field.
Hannah Tabit – Women's Volleyball
Sophomore setter Hannah Tabit (Mt. Morris, Mich. / EA Johnson HS) earned SVSU Athlete of the Week honors by helping the team achieve two victories this past week. Tabit recorded her career high of 49 assists against Tiffin University. On the week she averaged 10 assists per set (118 total) and a hitting percentage of .273 on 10 kills. She also added four aces and 19 digs.
The Saginaw Valley State Volleyball team will continue its home stretch this weekend against Northwood University on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday versus #7 Ferris State at 2 p.m.
