Jordan Swiss - Baseball

 

Saginaw Valley State junior infielder, Jordan Swiss, totaled seven hits and three runs in this weekends series split against Truman State. He averaged .750 with three hits and two runs out of four appearances during the 11-4 win over the Bulldogs.

Swiss is currently ranked second in conference and fifth in the nation for batting average, hitting .487 on the season. Also, he is seventh in the nation for on base percentage (.594), first in the GLIAC. Swiss earned his fourth save in game two of the series as well.

Baseball will open their home schedule with a single nine inning game against Concordia Ann Arbor on Wednesday, beginning at 3 p.m. GLIAC play will also begin this weekend at Tiffin University, Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.

 

Meredith Rousse

 

 

Senior infielder Meredith Rousse had a huge weekend in leading the Cardinals to a pair of sweeps on the road in regional action. Rousse hit .625, going 10-for-16 at the plate with two home runs, seven RBI and a pair of doubles. She walked twice, scored five runs and stole a pair of bases. She is now fifth in the GLIAC with a .462 batting average and is fourth with her 18 RBI.

The Saginaw Valley State Softball team will begin 2018 GLIAC play on Wednesday (Mar. 21) on the road at Purdue Northwest. The doubleheader is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. eastern time.
