Cardinal Athlete of the Week 

Amani Godfrey - Baseball 

 

Sophomore right-handed pitcher, Amani Godfrey, worked majority of the contest for the Cardinals in the 10-7 win over the Grand Valley Lakers on Friday (Apr.27) afternoon, pitching seven innings, striking out nine, walking two and allowed only a solo earned run. 

He currently has a 5.2 era on the season, working 62.1 innings on the 2018 season. 

The team will be back in action on Friday (May 4) at 4 p.m. to begin their final regular scheduled conference series against the Northwood Timberwolves. NU is currently in first place in the GLIAC with a 17-7 record in conference. 

Aubree Mouthaan - Softball 

 

As the SVSU Softball team wrapped up conference play this past weekend, with junior shortstop  Aubree Mouthaan leading the way against the doubleheader victories agianst the Tiffin Dragons. Mouthaan registered four home runs on the day with eight RBI in securing victories of 8-2 and 8-0 (5 inn.).   

She added a solo home run in the game against Wayne State on Sunday (Apr. 29), as well. 

Mouthaan is currently second on the team with 10 homeruns on the year behind teammate Courtney Reeves who leads the conference and SVSU with 12. 

The Cardinals will head down to Sandusky, Ohio, to participate in the 2018 GLIAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face Ashland in Friday's opening round. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m. at the Sports Force Park in Sandusky, Ohio. Click here for the tournament page.
