James Toohey — Men's Basketball
Freshman guard James Toohey (Canberra, Australia // Marist College Canberra) recorded his best performance as a Cardinal in the 71-53 victory over GLIAC foe, Northwood University. He added 11 points with a game-high six rebounds. Both figures are career-highs for the freshman. Toohey added two assists and a steal as well.
The Cardinals will return to action on Tuesday (Dec. 19) against Rochester College at 5 p.m. in O'Neill Arena. This will be the teams final match before they take a holiday break until Dec. 30 where they will take on Lewis University.
Kaitlyn Geers — Women's Basketball
Freshman forward Kaitlyn Geers (Kent City, Mich. // Kent City HS) had her career high with 12 points and six boards, earning herself the Meijer "Player of the Game" honors in the 69-63 loss against Northwood Saturday (Dec. 16) evening. She notched two blocks as well.
The Lady Cards will take a break for the holiday season and will return back in action on Saturday (Dec. 30) against Lewis University. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
