Whitney Fleming – Women's Soccer
Sophomore Whitney Fleming (New Baltimore, Mich./ Anchor Bay HS) earned her "Athlete of the Week" honors after her exceptional performance for the Cardinals home opening weekend. Fleming contributed two goals over the weekend, one on Friday's winning match up against Ohio Dominican (2-1) and the other Sunday's victory versus Findlay, (2-1). She contributed eight shots over the weekend.
Saginaw Valley State Women's Soccer team will play two non-conference match ups this weekend. On Friday, Cardinals will take on Northern Michigan at 1 p.m. Sunday at noon, SVSU will finish off their weekend at Michigan Tech.
Ryan Peruski– Men's Golf
Senior Ryan Peruski (Saline, Mich.) earned his "Athlete of the Week" for his top preformance for the Cardinals at the Al Watrous Invitational over the weekend. Peruski shot a 67 (-5) on Saturday and a 72 (0) for his overall score 139 (-5) for 36 holes played. Cardinals ended up third overall, with Peruski finishing fourth out of 80 players in the invitational.
The Men's Golf team will be back in action this weekend (Sept. 15-16) at GLIAC North Invitational at the HawksHead Golf Course in South Haven, Mich.
