Mason Schwellenbach Schwellenbach worked six innings of shutout baseball in Friday's 6-2 win over Davenport. He allowed just three hits, walking two and posting nine strikeouts on the afternoon. The nine strikeouts marks a new career-high for Schwellenbach, who sits fourth in the GLIAC with a 2.67 ERA and third with 9.89 K's per 9.
The Cardinals hit the road this weekend for a series at Ashland University, beginning with a Friday contest at 4 pm.
Shelbe Cahill - Women's Golf
Shelbe Cahill claimed her first collegiate medalist honors while leading the SVSU to its first tournament title in the program's second year on Monday at the ODU Snowflake Open. Cahill matched the program single round record with a second round 72, coupling that with her first day 77 to claim a two-stroke victory over teammate Sabrina Coffman. The Lady Cardinals posted a record score of 626 in the single day, 36-hole event while the second round team total of 309 was a new 18-hole mark.
SVSU is back in action Apr. 9-10 at the Ohio Dominican Invitational, which will be played at the Jefferson Golf & Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.
