SVSU Athletics is set to host the 12th annual breast cancer survivor reception and recognition event on February 22, 2020 in coordination with a home basketball double header contest during the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Pink Wave week.  In 2019, there were 41 breast cancer survivors and your families came to the campus of SVSU to celebrate a journey of courage, hope and faith.

Commemorative t-shirts and other miscellaneous promotional items were sold for a profit of $1,570 which was donated to Covenant Breast Health Center's CARE Fund.  To date SVSU Athletics has raised just over $34,000 for regional community members in need of breast care services. 

This event was made possible by the generous contributions of our Cardinal student-athlete volunteers and sponsors including Dr. Ernie and Leanne Balcueva and family, Jolt Credit Union, Covenant Health Care and Mitchell Motorcoach. Additional support was provided by the Cardinal Deli, providing the reception for all survivors and volunteers.
